I've been fishing with Gary
twice now, coming all the way from Holland, planning my third
trip for October this year. I have enjoyed fishing here so much
and with Gary as a guide, if you don't catch reds they simpley
aren't there. Gary better warn them Reds because we are coming
again!

In my business , I take
clients fishing from time to time. Well as i grow older I find
it much easier and more fun for my clients to be catered to, by
a professional fishing guide. I have been fortunate enough to be
able to book both Shellie and Gary to take my clients fishing,
they have always come back with wide open eyes and grinning from
ear to ear, and bags full of fillets!!! Both Shellie and Gary
have great abilities to communicate with my clients and also
horse around with them to ensure everyone has a great time!!!
Thank you both for making my effort to entertain a bit easier
on me!!

Gary, Just wanted to say
"thanks" for such a great fishing trip on Saturday, April 16th.
My husband and I had an awesome time and could not stop talking
about how much fun we had. We sure enjoyed the company, the
laughs and the conversation. Thanks for showing us a wonderful
time! Great way to spend an anniversary!!

Hands down, if you want to catch some fish and have fun, it's
Bay Rat; and if you want to only have some fun, it's Bay Rat.
We won this fishing trip in a raffle; we're from the Galveston
area; so Gary knew that the chance of repeat business was
virtually nil; however, in spite of that and it being a bad day
and the fish weren't biting, Gary was determined-or
obsessed-that we were going to catch some fish. So Gary
"scooted" us all over the place and burned more oil than what's
coming out of the Gulf spill,and guess what, not only did we
catch our limit, but we also had a hell of a great time and Gary
didn't charge us for the good time - and Gary did all the
work,baiting hooks,etc.
Thank you, Gary
BTW: one of us was a fairly experienced fisherman and two of us
were green as green can get, but Gary went above and beyond in
all areas and esp. in SINCERELY making us feel like we were
trophy winning fishermen.

consummate professional, without being a "know it all", and an
excellent instructor, again without making you feel like an
idiot. She's just an all around truly nice person, and we're

Captain Gary introduced myself and Oklahoma buddy Bill Henshaw
to shallow water Red fishing. Half the fun was spotting the fish
on the boat ride out, the other half was catching them and
limiting out. Fantastic trip, great hospitality, definetely will
be back.

Never before have I had a day of fishing like last Friday Oct
21,! We caught specks and reds for 5 solid hours. Our fingers
were raw and ALL trout were over 17" !! We picked up some more
reds on the flats and finished out the day with limits of trout
and reds on all stringers. Capt Gary put us on tons of fish all
day and shot some great action pictures as well. He is a
consummate professional and a ton of fun on the boat and I
highly recommend spending a day on the water with him ! Paul

Back in 2002 I took my first trip with Gary, we had a very
successful trip with catching our limit of Redfish with a few
trout, then in 2003 we took another trip and again another limit
of Redfish. This year we targeted Trout and we missed our limit
by 1 fish, my friends and I caught 39 trout and 1 red fish.
Again Gary great trip and look forward to next year

(Trip 6/18 & 6/19) I've never been much of a fisherman, and
going into this trip I wasn't expecting much other then to try
and enjoy myself. To my surprise the 2 days I spent out with
Gary and Shellie was some of the most fun I've had putting bait
on a hook. Not only were they both very knowledgeable of the
area, they were helpful in teaching us the little nuances to
catching fish. Since my experience I've already spoken to some
of my friends about going back, and they all seemed pumped about
the idea after hearing of my trip. I'd recommend Bay Rat Guide
Service to the beginner (such as myself) as well as the seasoned
angler. Thanks again Gary and Shellie for a really good time!

My last trip with Shellie and Gary was 14 April 2004. What a
fishing day that was. After a slow start catching fish, the
water exploded with schools of black drum in the 3-5 pound range
that lasted for about 1 ˝ hours. Hands and arms hurt after that
and then came the spec’s. Shellie and Gary will not let time go
by without fish catching excitement. Great Trip!! Thanks for a
great day of fishing!!

Thanks for the great trip. In the worst of conditions( 50 degree
weather and a north wind of about 30 mph) we caught a slew of
reds. You never stop amazing us. This is the most fun you can
have with your waders on.

First I would like to thank Gary and Shellie for their
generosity for supporting the CCA with donated trips. This was
the best money I ever spent at a fundraising banquet. The
weekend was a blast, plenty of fish, great weather, fantastic
company. I smiled and laughed so much I've got white smile
wrinkles in my suntan. It was a pleasure getting to know the two
of you. Thanks for a memorable weekend.

What a blast! The dynamic duo does it again! I've never caught
so many fish in one day in my life! My wife, daughter and
grandson really appreciated the care and kindness Shellie showed
them as she taught them the fine art of saltwater fishing while
reeling in some nice redfish. At the same time Gary put us guys
on the trout big time! What a neat trip. The girls with Shellie
and the guys with Gary in the morning, and all of us wade
fishing together in the afternoon. October 29th, 2003 will
forever be a wonderful memory for our family. There's no

Captain Shellie Gray put us on the Reds!! My dad came down to
visit from Indianapolis and loves to catch redfish and what more
can you say when you finish out the day releasing over six reds
over 26"-27" after we bagged our limit. Thanks for the great
trip.

challenge I have is getting a recipe for the redfish we brought
home. I don't think I can measure up to the way Josie's cooked

I want to say thanks for the great fishing trip we had on
Saturday July 20, 2002. We caught our limit of Redfish ranging
from 24 to 28 inches and 3 trout around the 19 inch mark. I will
